New Toys for Christmas this Year

All new toys must first of all be tested before they are marketed and all new toys for Christmas this year will have gone through that process. Of course, health and safety considerations come high on the list but apart form that, and we shall assume that all new toys for Christmas this year for sale in reputable stores have passed that test.

New toys for Christmas this year will also of course almost always have been tested by children in play settings to determine durability, age-appropriateness and play patterns. At least one large toy manufacturer maintains and in-house, year-round nursery school for this purpose, while others establish relationships with universities and other educational facilities.

Imagine if you had been a child and taken to one of these purposes. You would already have had a chance to see, and play with at least some of the new toys for Christmas this year. Wow! That must be some nursery!

New quality toys are best for your children to use, as they are more durable than old, used toys. If you would like to give your baby a secondhand toy, do inspect it carefully.

No matter what is really new in the new toys for Christmas this year, there will be thousands of appropriate for youngsters who just want to play with a G.I. Joe action figure, while vintage and vintage reissues are more appropriate for toy collectors.

Plastic pellets (beanie animals) are allowed for children over 3 years old, but do take care to avoid toys with detachable parts (like button eyes) that can be removed and swallowed or inhaled.

It matters not what the children think of these toys, or what is really new in the new toys for Christmas this year. One big shock in recent years has been the revelation that plastics aren't as stable as we had previously thought, polymers degrade, and plastic products can begin to shrink and become sticky even in normal room heat.

So watch out for even the new toys for Christmas this year, for the risk of ingestion of some rather nasty substances can take place with a child. So make sure aged and elderly plastic toys aren't showing too much sign of discoloration nor any stickiness at all. If they are, then don't hesitate to discard them immediately and buy new. It is simply not worth endangering young lives due to possible ingestion of carcinogenic substances related to plastic in toys.

However, technology in the new toys for Christmas this year has been transforming the magical world of the best toys more than ever before. Even a classic toy like Mattel's (MAT ) Barbie is no longer an inanimate doll that little girls can project fantasies onto.

Barbie is hardly one of the new toys for Christmas this year. But now Barbie Software is all the rage now. Barbie owners can be real fashion designers with this computer software. There is even an electronic element to the classic Tickle-Me Elmo, and D-Rex, the latest in dinosaurs.

I only found out recently that Barbie and Ken, her boyfriend, were named after the real children of Ruth Handler, Barbie's creator, the wife of one of the founders of Mattel, Inc., and the driving force behind the company for many years. Barbie of course came first. When Ken was introduced, in 1961, Handler wanted him to be what is referred to nowadays as "anatomically correct," but Mattel's (male) marketing department said no.

Technology has made great advances especially in the new toys for Christmas this year, but toys are still toys. A good toy is the same the world over and needs to spark the child's own imagination before it can provide real play value.

Great Toys to Give Children

Great toys are always a good investment. Perhaps not in financial returns but definitely in the smiles and thank yous that come from family and friends. It is also true to say that the best toy is 90 percent child, 10 percent toy.

Despite the best efforts of the toy makers the best toy is often something you get on your own when you are child which sparks imagination, like a cardboard box. At the time our daughter was five years old, we had boxes like the ones refrigerators come in, and she wanted to play with those, and did play with them more than the toys we gave her.

One of the great toys we have enjoyed in our family is the Turbo Scratcher, a ball on a track the cat can bat around. It doesn't take much effort for a cat to make the ball go whizzing around, which the cat can then chase. It is hilarious to watch!

The difference between a best toy, and great toys, is a toy that a child may make an impact upon. It is not static.

A great toy is the type of Beach Ball, which take the longest to break. The only thing that works as well as a Beach Ball is the Go-Kart, which doesn't last quite as long in information terms, but the animation of the toy actually breaking is quite long, making the Go-Kart last as long as the Beach Ball.

Children do not just love hearing music, they love making it as well. There are many small, inexpensive great musical toys that can used as stocking stuffers. Children may want to bring a favorite toy, game, video or book to the Center. Past experience has shown us that this can be a positive experience if a few simple guidelines are followed. Children can fill the bag with stuffed animals of all sizes, and then use the Animal Bag as a soft seat. Made from high quality, breathable fabrics, the Boon Animal Bag is machine washable, or it can be dry-cleaned to hold these great toys.

A favorite toy, and one of the great toys for 30 years is making a new splash with high-speed spinnin' and splashin' fun! This toy brings the buyer all the excitement of an amusement park water ride. But you get it right in your own backyard! At least that is what the manufacturer claims.

One of the great toys for many generations of young children has been Lego block toys. This kind of toy is marketed in many different sets, but the pieces that comprise each set are frequently similar or identical to pieces in other sets. So, once the child has grown tired of the original box you can mix the new toys with the others bought previously, making a new big set, which again opens up massive opportunity for imaginative play.

Changing tack here completely, we do want to point out that great toys are like the favorite toy which can serve as a security blanket and can accompany your child into surgery, the recovery room or to the intensive care unit. Don't belittle a child's blanket!

Kids can also make and use their homemade perfumes to create a scented potpourri or a sweet-smelling sachet in one toy available now. High-quality perfume oils, are included that the manufacturer says have been safety tested and approved in the U.S, making great toys.

However, it is often not necessary to spend much money to amuse children. Kids got goody bags filled with toys and candy at this time of year and can often seem more attention to such things than their toys.

A favorite toy a few years back were yo-yo water balls, liquid-filled spheres attached to long, stretchy cords.Whether these could be called great toys though is in doubt because the fad soon passed.

Old fashioned colored and painted wooden bricks still are an indispensable toy, and one of the great toys of all time. Ask children to sort them by different characteristics, such as color, size, wild or domestic animals, eye color, whether they have tails or not, and so on, and they will often be quiet and attentive for quite a long period.

Encourage children to discuss the criteria they used to sort the animals. Ask what do these differences imply?

Another thing to ask the children is why great toys such as metal soldiers and cloth toys were popular during the last few years, because from an adult perspective this is a puzzling.
